What I collect and why
Contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, the budget and service you choose, and your message. They are sent to my inbox by email so I can reply. The form does not store your message in the website’s database.
To block spam, the site keeps a short-lived, anonymised record of your IP address (a one-way hash) for one hour to limit how many messages can be sent.
Comments
When you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, comment, IP address and browser user agent. This is standard WordPress behaviour and helps detect spam. Your email address is never published.
Comments from first-time commenters are held for moderation. A short-lived, anonymised record of your IP address is kept for ten minutes to limit how many comments can be posted.
The site shows avatars from Gravatar, a service run by Automattic. To display yours, a hashed version of your email address is sent to Gravatar. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Cookies
- Comment cookies: if you tick “Save my name and email in this browser”, your name and email are saved in cookies for one year so you don’t have to type them again.
- Login cookies: set only for the site administrator.
The site uses no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking and no analytics tools. Fonts are hosted on this server, so no request goes to Google Fonts or similar services.
Server logs
Like every website, the hosting server records technical data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically by the host.
How long data is kept
- Contact messages stay in my email inbox for as long as needed to handle your request.
- Comments and their data are kept as long as the comment is published. Comments marked as spam are deleted regularly.
- The anonymised anti-spam records expire automatically after ten minutes to one hour.
Who receives your data
I don’t sell, rent or share your personal data. It is processed only by the services needed to run the site: the hosting provider, the email service that delivers messages, and Gravatar for avatars.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email [info@shahramnajafi.com] and I will reply within 30 days. If you are in the European Union or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes, for example by adding analytics or a newsletter, this page will be updated. When it changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
